Our Story
Rooted in Del Norte. Committed to Our Community. Looking Toward the Future.
The Del Norte Republicans are more than a political organization. We are your neighbors, friends, business owners, parents, grandparents, veterans, community volunteers, and citizens who care deeply about the place we call home.
For generations, Del Norte County has been a special place—defined by its redwood forests, coastline, farms, fisheries, small businesses, families, and the independent spirit of the people who live here. We believe that same spirit deserves a strong voice in our local government and in the political process.
That is why the Del Norte Republican Central Committee exists.
A Local Organization With Local Roots
The Del Norte Republicans are the local Republican organization serving Del Norte County. Our work begins here, with the people and issues that affect our community every day.
While national and statewide politics often receive the most attention, we understand that government is ultimately about people—and many of the decisions that affect our families, businesses, schools, public safety, roads, healthcare, economy, and quality of life happen much closer to home.
Our goal is to encourage informed participation in that process and to help ensure that the voices of Del Norte County residents are heard.
Over the years, our organization has provided a place for Republicans throughout the county to come together, meet candidates, discuss important issues, volunteer, and participate in the political process. From community open houses and candidate forums to major fundraising and civic events, we have worked to create opportunities for people to become involved.
More Than Election Season
Being involved in our community shouldn't begin and end with an election.
We believe political organizations have a responsibility to be part of the communities they represent.
One example is our ongoing involvement with the Adopt-a-Highway program. Del Norte Republicans adopted a section of Highway 101 and regularly work to keep it clean. Members have spent countless hours working together along the highway—not for a campaign, but simply because we believe taking care of our community matters.
That spirit of service is an important part of who we are.
We believe that strong communities are built by people who are willing to roll up their sleeves, contribute their time, help their neighbors, and take responsibility for the place they call home.
Bringing People Together
At the heart of our organization are people.
Our events have provided opportunities for residents to meet elected officials, candidates, community leaders, and fellow citizens. Over the years, Del Norte Republicans have hosted community gatherings, candidate events, Lincoln-Reagan dinners, fundraisers, and opportunities for residents to become better informed about the issues facing our county, state, and nation.
We believe that healthy communities benefit from people who are willing to participate—even when we don't always agree.
Conversation matters.
Civic involvement matters.
Being informed matters.
And most importantly, showing up matters.
What We Believe
Our organization is built around principles that emphasize individual liberty and personal responsibility, private property and free enterprise, public safety, fiscal responsibility, efficient government, and strong families and communities.
We believe government works best when it is accountable to the people it serves.
We believe individuals should have the freedom to make decisions about their own lives while accepting responsibility for those decisions.
We believe Del Norte County needs an economy where families can build a future, businesses can succeed, and young people have opportunities to stay and raise their own families.
And we believe that protecting the character and quality of life that make Del Norte County special requires citizens who are willing to participate.
These principles have been part of the organization's stated mission and philosophy for years.
Looking Ahead
Del Norte County faces challenges that cannot be solved by simply looking backward.
Our community needs thoughtful leadership, responsible stewardship of public resources, economic opportunity, reliable infrastructure, access to healthcare, public safety, strong schools, and a community prepared to respond when emergencies occur.
We want to be part of those conversations.
We want to help develop and support leaders who understand Del Norte County—not simply as a political district, but as a community made up of real people with real families, businesses, hopes, and concerns.
And we want to build an organization that welcomes people who are ready to contribute their time, ideas, skills, and energy.
The Next Chapter Is Ours to Write
The story of the Del Norte Republicans isn't finished.
Every volunteer who gives their time, every person who attends a meeting, every neighbor who becomes informed, every candidate who steps forward to serve, and every community member who chooses to participate becomes part of that story.
We are proud of where we've come from.
We are grateful for the people who built this organization before us.
And we are looking forward to the work still ahead.
This is our home.
This is our community.
And this is our story.
